Lindauer Queenstown Winter Festival goes BIG

The theme is ‘BIG' – and the 2007 Lindauer Queenstown Winter Festival is promising to rock New Zealand's favourite party town.
The programme for the festival, to be held from June 22 to July 1, will be launched tomorrow (Monday March 19) on the festival website ="7440490666"; From the ‘BIG Night Out' styled on Auckland's Big Day Out, to the ‘ Big Air' that attracts some of the best boarders and skiers in the business, the programme is full of events guaranteeing funky, fun and fabulous times in New Zealand's winter capital, according to Festival Manager Sally Feinerman.
'The BIG Night Out on June 24 will seriously be Queenstown's concert of the year, with Ladi 6, Pluto, Kora and Shihad all wrapped up in a one off, one night only event,' she says.
'It's the only show Shihad will be performing on this trip to New Zealand before they head to the UK.
'A definite highlight will be the Big Air on June 30 at Coronet Peak, where competitors are renowned for pulling some really, really BIG tricks, and in another massive coup we're delighted to announce that we've secured top jazz export Nathan Haines direct from the UK to play at the Lindauer Jazz Night on June 30.
'Not only that, we also have jazz veterans the Nairobi Trio and Queenstown's favourite dance band the Blackseeds, so it's a truly stellar lineup.'
Festival favourites and some new events are back on the ten-day calendar, which is a mix of ticketed and free activities.
Tickets for events will go on sale at 9am on Friday March 23 from Ticket Direct nationwide and i-site Queenstown, with special Earlybird ticket prices available until April 27 for the Lindauer Jazz Night and the BIG Night Out.
